Michael Carrick believes Manchester United did enough to beat Fulham despite leaving Craven Cottage with only a point.
Manchester United created several chances but couldn’t find a second goal after conceding, with Fulham’s Bernd Leno making several important saves. Carrick felt the overall performance deserved more than the final result.
“I thought we should’ve won the game, we created enough to win the game. We had a lot of good play and the goal we did concede, it is one of those goals,” Michael Carrick said to Sky Sports.
The United boss was particularly pleased with how his players responded as the game entered its final stages.

“I really liked the reaction and how we finished the game. It would be easy for it to go in another direction.”
United pushed hard for a winner and came close to snatching all three points before the final whistle.
“We nearly won it at the end. We came to get the win; of course we did, but the way we finished the game is the positive we take from it.”
Carrick also highlighted Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno’s contribution, with the German keeping his side in front for long periods.
“Their goalkeeper, the saves he has made, he was player of the match and we hit the post twice.”
Despite the dropped points, Carrick believes there was enough in United’s performance to take into the international break.
“A lot of it [our play] was good. There are things to take from it, for sure.”
United will now have a short break from club football before returning to Premier League action, with Carrick hoping his side can turn their promising passages of play into more victories.
