Marcus Rashford could be facing an extended spell on the touchline after Michael Carrick revealed the Manchester United forward picked up an injury during Sunday's draw over Fulham. The Red Devils still boast just one win all season, having needed a deflected goal to salvage a point in the weekend fixture.
Rashford started the match for United, but not to great effect, and the Englishman was subbed off with the visitors chasing the match at 1-0 down. But the draw in west London could prove Rashford's last action for a while, should the injury prove serious.
On the knock, Carrick said: "We had to bring him off as he had a bit of an issue." Before adding: "I'm not sure," when asked if it was serious.
Rashford was named in the England squad for the upcoming international break, which will see England play four matches instead of the usual two. They kick things off with a home match against world champions Spain, before back-to-back away games against Czechia and Croatia.
The final match of the four for England is back on home soil for the return fixture against Czechia. England will play their away game vs Spain and their home match against Croatia during the November international break.
Meanwhile, on his performance vs Fulham, Carrick added: "Marcus was a threat. He could have had a couple of goals for us today. He's another one who is getting himself in good positions, it's just not quite falling for him. It will. We know Marcus. We know how to get the best out of him and will continue to do that."
