Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo were both taken off by Michael Carrick in Manchester United’s draw to Fulham.
Manchester United drew 1-1 with Fulham in their final Premier League clash before the international break.
In the match, Michael Carrick’s substitutions were questioned, including his decision to withdraw both Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo from the pitch.
But it now seems as though the England duo suffered injuries or setbacks which could keep them at Carrington over the break.

It was reported by David Ornstein that both Rashford and Mainoo are set to become England absentees this break.
He wrote that Rashford is currently being assessed for a hip issue that has been ongoing since the World Cup. It is added that Rashford is “expected to pull out” from the squad.
Mainoo is “also among likely absentees” after he was replaced by Mason Mount at Craven Cottage.
It is unfortunate that in the same week that Thomas Tuchel apologised to Mainoo about his lack of minutes at the World Cup, the 21-year-old will now likely miss his chance to set things straight in an England shirt.
The four England games Rashford and Mainoo will miss
This international break is a long one, with United not back in action until October 10 when they face Tottenham at Old Trafford.

In that space, England are set to play four international matches.
England vs Spain – 26 September
Czechia vs England – 29 September
Croatia vs England – 3 October
England vs Czechia – 6 October
Instead of getting more minutes in their tanks, Rashford and Mainoo are expected to stay in Manchester and recover from their injuries.
