Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo could withdraw from the England squad, according to The Athletic.
England manager Thomas Tuchel has named both United stars in his squad for the upcoming Nations League group-stage fixtures.
The Three Lions are set to face World Cup winners Spain, Croatia and the Czech Republic (twice) during the three-week international break.
Rashford and Mainoo featured in the 1-1 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
United head coach Michael Carrick brought both players off in the second half, although the decision to substitute Mainoo was met with boos from the travelling supporters.
Carrick confirmed after the game that Rashford had been withdrawn because of an issue.
The Athletic have now revealed that Rashford is likely to miss the international fixtures due to a hip problem that United have been managing since the FIFA World Cup.
While announcing his squad, Tuchel admitted that he made a mistake by failing to give Mainoo any game time at the World Cup.
The 21-year-old has been in good form for United despite the club enduring a poor start to the 2026-27 season.
The same cannot be said about Rashford, who has yet to score a goal or provide an assist in seven appearances across all competitions.
Carrick will now hope both Rashford and Mainoo can get the rest they need before returning to training in time for United’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur on October 10.
The Red Devils have collected just five points from their opening five league games and are currently languishing in 12th place in the Premier League table.
