Harry Maguire and Michael Carrick remain on the same wavelength about a key moment in Manchester United’s season after the Fulham draw on Sunday evening.
The Red Devils are 12th in the Premier League table after collecting only five points from their opening five league matches under manager Michael Carrick this season.
Manchester United manager Carrick was able to breathe a sigh of relief at the weekend after the Red Devils narrowly avoided a shock defeat to Fulham.
Fulham took the lead over United in the second half after Lisandro Martinez put the ball in his own net, but Matheus Cunha later equalised for the Red Devils in the tie.

Manchester United had suffered back-to-back defeats ahead of their Premier League visit to Craven Cottage at the weekend. The Red Devils had lost 1-0 to 10-man Manchester City at Old Trafford before Michael Carrick saw United crash out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Brighton.
United were furious with the Manchester City result earlier this month after VAR had not ruled out Erling Haaland’s winner in the first Manchester derby of the season. Speaking after United’s encounter with Fulham, Red Devils defender Harry Maguire slammed the “absolutely ridiculous” decision from City’s Premier League victory.
“You have got to ignore the noise and really believe and think about what we have done this year, along with what we need to work on and improve on, but we are not far away,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“Last week was an absolutely ridiculous goal that changed the whole [complexion] of the game and the week before the right-back sticks the ball in from 30 yards. We could be sat here looking at things completely different; that’s football and it is fine margins.”

The Premier League refereeing body Pro Ref later issued a statement and apologised for VAR’s intervention over the Erling Haaland incident. Michael Carrick was furious with what happened in the United vs City match after the incident and the Red Devils boss echoed Maguire’s sentiments as well.
“It’s not been ideal,” he said at his post-match press conference, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“It was always going to come at some point. We’re looking at it and think: Everton, a 25-yard shot into the top corner, the Man City goal is not a goal and, today, we see that own goal. One of [those] things, but they are pretty fine margins.
“They are things that have flipped it. I know we can do better; we need to do better at certain things, but at the same time I’m not despondent because we have shown some good signs as well.”
Different Man Utd first-team players will now link up with their respective nations for the start of the extended October international break this season.
