Carrick claims ‘moments’ kept going against Man United after dropping points at Fulham

Michael Carrick commented on a 1-1 draw between Manchester United and Fulham.
Matheus Cunha cancelled out a Lisandro Martinez own goal to take a point at Craven Cottage, but the visitors were again found wanting relative to their standards in the first half of the year.
·‘Their goalkeeper was Man of the Match’
The Red Devils have picked up five points from five Premier League games, sitting in the bottom half of the table as the first international break of the season starts. Carrick is choosing calmness and composure as his style of speech in press conferences, and the trend did not break after this result.
“We came to win the game, you know, and, for the most part, we did more than enough to win the game, with some of our attacking play. Their goalkeeper was Man of the Match.
“Top, top saves he's made to keep them in the game and we hit the post twice. Then we concede from a deflection and it ends up going in as an own goal. There's a bit of that at the moment, moments around our box going against us. The Everton goal in the 95th minute, the Manchester City goal that shouldn't be a goal, wasn't a goal. An own goal today. We can't do much about those moments and it's going that way at the moment which it won't always, as we'll keep doing the right things.

“We are not happy about not winning the game but there are things to take from this game, for sure.
“We don’t need to get carried away, all of a sudden, just because of today’s game. I think we can take a lot from today’s game; we need to learn a lot from this first chapter of the season really and we need to be better, that is pretty clear. I thought there were some good signs today and the way we finished the game really strongly, that will take us through the season because it is easy not to be like that.
"It's difficult to control a whole game in the Premier League - wherever you play, whoever you play.
“It shows in results over the last couple of days, the way things are going. Football is a difficult game; we played a lot of good football today and in the Premier League , you don’t have it your own way always. To expect total dominance for the whole game, no one really gets that in this league."
"There are parts we can do better. The way we responded to going down was really pleasing, the boys were really positive and played with good purpose.

“We've got something the supporters can take from the game. They were fantastic again today and kept pushing the boys. I'm convinced we'll have a good season. We're having a spell that feels bigger than it actually is to the outside. We'll get back to winning football matches and we'll be alright.
"This first chapter feels a bit of a sprint. That's done. We wanted more points, we haven't quite got them, but there's still a lot of encouragement from me moving forward. We've got a good cluster of games coming up when we get back together. A lot of the boys are travelling good distances around the world to play games.
“I just hope they come back fit and healthy and ready to go again. We have a big spell when they get back. The players that we have we will train and work as much as possible as we can and a little bit of time off, as every club will, and then get ready for the restart for when we come back."
