Idris Fabiyi made his under-18s debut for Manchester United.
There is a never-ending conveyor belt of talent at Manchester United, and the bright prospects keep on arriving.
The new cohort of under-18s have begun the season impressively, led by striker Camron Mpofu, playmaker Jaume Camacho, and winger Edson DeJonge-Seiros.
At the weekend Darren Fletcher’s side beat Wolves 6-0, clinching a fifth straight victory.
Towards the end of the game, Manchester United handed a debut to young centre-back Idris Fabiyi.
Idris Fabiyi makes u18s debut
Idris Fabiyi was introduced in the 75th minute, replacing Conor Laurie and formed a partnership with Harley Emsden-James.
This was the first time Fabiyi had even been on the bench, and with United 6-0 up, it was the ideal moment to throw him in.
Idris Fabiyi 16 and will turn 17 next February. He is eligible to play international football for both England and Nigeria.
Fabiyi is one of 15 youngsters who signed scholarship deals this summer with United, along with Kai Rooney and Jacey Carrick.
He has been with Manchester United’s academy since under-nines and is eligible to play for Nigeria through his parents.
Fabiyi has represented United at the SuperCup NI, and he could become a regular with the under-18s over the course of the season.
He is a left-footed centre-back and during his brief cameo appearance he demonstrated how comfortable he is with the ball at his feet.
United have a number of promising centre-backs coming through at the moment, led by Jayden Ngwashi, who has been impressing staff behind the scenes over the past 12 months.
