This season has seen Edson DeJonge-Seiros emerge for Manchester United as one of the stars of the U18 squad, despite only debuting last month. Here is everything you need to know about the next academy sensation.
Edson DeJonge-Seiros is a first-year scholar at Manchester United, making waves for the U18s so far this season under Darren Fletcher. Since DeJonge-Seiros debuted in August, he has quickly settled in and now finds himself as one of the most impactful players for the academy right now.
DeJonge-Seiros is on a scoring run of four in three games at the time of writing, a form that sticks him in position as the U18s main man right now and a possible replacement for outgoing JJ Gabriel. So here is what you need to know.

Who is Edson DeJonge-Seiros?
DeJonge-Seiros is a 16-year-old winger who has been at Manchester United, playing himself through the ranks for years.
The wonderkid is considered a huge talent and has proven exactly why since stepping up into the U18s with several exciting performances.
DeJonge-Seiros is a tri-national, eligible to play for England, Portugal, and also Angola. He has always been considered among the most exciting talents at the club, up there with Gabriel, before the 15-year-old found himself fast-tracked.
In 2022, DeJonge-Seiros was pictured with Cristiano Ronaldo Jr and Tunde Shoretire alongside Antony after a game in the Europa League at Old Trafford.
As a U13, DeJonge-Seiros went viral on social media, similar to JJ Gabriel, for his silky dribbling, and he has retained that in his game today, adding excellent finishing, physicality, and explosiveness.

Off the pitch, DeJonge-Seiros has also proven this season that he is a big character, unafraid of the limelight, and also ultra-confident.
As Gabriel’s departure reached the headlines, DeJonge-Seiros actually sent him a pretty telling message. He posted on his Instagram a picture of himself playing for United in the 2018/19 kit when he must have been eight or nine.
He added a heart, with the United colours badge, and the timing of this felt like a pretty big statement directed at Gabriel. Shea Lacey also took this stance with his own message, and it shows how he feels about the club.
