The majority of Manchester United players who aren't on international duty have been given the week off, but a few have been reporting to Carrington to complete individual work and light training.

‌

The September international break commenced for United after their 1-1 draw against Fulham last Sunday. The Reds are next in action against Tottenham on October 10, meaning there is a 20-day gap between games.

‌

The majority of the players who aren't on international duty will report for training next week as part of the usual schedule, but a handful are working with coaches and staff on individual work this week.

‌

Karl Darlow, Kobbie Mainoo, Marcus Rashford and Benjamin Sesko were all forced to withdraw from their respective national teams due to injury.

United are assessing Sesko after he suffered shin pain again, the issue he initially played through last season before being ruled out for the last three games of the campaign and the entirety of pre-season.

‌

The club will devise a treatment plan for Sesko once they know where they stand with the problem. Andy Cole suffered from shin splints at Newcastle, but he overcame the problem to become a success at United.

Amad will continue his rehabilitation from an ankle injury during the international break. The winger featured in pre-season after playing at the World Cup, but he was ruled out of action on the eve of the opening game against Hull.

It was thought that Amad could be out for up to six weeks with the issue, meaning he could return after the international break if his recovery progresses as hoped.

‌

The return of Amad will be a boost for Michael Carrick, who has taken just five points from five league games this term. "It's still a big season ahead, to be fair," Carrick said after the 1-1 draw against Fulham.

"It's a long season, you're going to have spells through a season. That's part of the journey through a season. It's not a sprint, it's a long effort. Of course, I'm not playing it down, we wanted more points from it.

"So I'm not saying everything's great. I understand the frustration, of course I do, because we wanted to be better and we wanted to do other things. But deflation, I think, is certainly not what we have within the club and within the group.

"The players didn't have that on the pitch today and that's what will carry us through the season, without doubt."
