Real Madrid has always been Vinicius Jr.’s happy and safe space, with the player always in good spirits at the club, backed by the administration through thick and thin and consistently performing at a high level.

Over the past year, however, there has been an undeniable decline in the winger’s output and performances, and the situation has reached an alarming level this season.

Despite starting the season as a de facto starter under Jose Mourinho and having the manager’s backing, Vinicius has struggled to perform at the level he is associated with. In many ways, he has been the team’s weak link in attack consistently.

As reported by Jose Felix Diaz of AS, the Real Madrid star is well aware of how he is underperforming and admits that his performances have been on a poor level lately.

He feels like he has hit rock bottom as of the recent Madrid derby where he was taken off the field in the 54th minute for his bland performance.

Vinicius is hurt, upset and overall disappointed in himself for the entire situation around him, and he left the Riyadh Air Metropolitano very low in spirits.

An introspection and acceptance of reality is the first step in Vinicius turning his situation around, and it can only be good news for the administration and management that he has taken that difficult step forward.

The Spanish journalist also furthers that the player is now willing to face reality and make amends to prove his worth once more.

He feels he has a debt to repay Los Blancos for all the faith they have placed in him, especially in terms of betting on him in the long run and even handing out a contract renewal at a low point in his career instead of pushing and asking him to join Arsenal.

He is, thus, determined to do everything in his power to come back stronger and earn his place back as a star difference-maker.

One can only hope that his intent can be seriously converted into a tangible difference in output.

Real Madrid’s relatively rough start to the new season has had few silver linings, and Jude Bellingham has been one of them.

After a stellar World Cup campaign, the English midfielder has continued the same run of form with the club and has led the attacking midfield with serious intent. His numbers, needless to say, do all the talking.

Over the past month, word has broken out that Los Blancos are already considering handing the player a contract renewal, especially given his quality and consistency on the field.

As reported by Matteo Moretto on Radio MARCA now, Bellingham is set to renew his contract with Real Madrid as early as in the coming weeks.

The two parties have been in talks over the said extension for a long time now, and there appears to be a provisional agreement in place between them over the final terms of his deal.

Needless to say, the club are seriously working on the objective, and the final agreement between them can be reached soon.

Bellingham’s current deal with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2029, and there is indeed no rush to hurry the midfield star’s renewal.

Part of the reason the club are pushing for it early, needless to say, is their recent experience with Vinicius Jr.

In the recently concluded summer transfer window, Los Blancos struggled to pull off the Brazilian star’s contract renewal given that he had entered the final six months of his deal. Vinicius put his foot down and insisted on better terms, and the club did not have much negotiating leeway.

Given how big an icon Bellingham has grown into, it is thus in the club’s best interest to seal the renewal talks at the earliest.

So far this season, the English midfielder has already made seven league appearances and six starts for Real Madrid and also averages 2.4 key passes per game.

He also has three goals and two assists in the competition at the moment and is the team’s de facto starter in the attacking midfield, and has a strong claim as Real Madrid’s best player of the season.
