Tottenham are keen on adding additional firepower in the final third in the upcoming January transfer window
Tottenham’s attacking troubles are becoming a major problem for Roberto de Zerbi this season. We are already five games into the new Premier League campaign, and the Lilywhites have managed to score just two goals under the Italian tactician’s guidance. The attack is misfiring, with the forwards struggling to find the back of the net this time around. This is one of the main reasons why the North Londoners are currently stranded at the bottom of the league table.
Spurs addressed their attacking problems during the latter stages of the transfer window earlier last month. The Lilywhites did well to bring in several high-profile names as part of the major squad overhaul at N17. Omar Marmoush and Savio arrived from Manchester City, while Mykhailo Mudryk also joined the club on an initial loan deal from cross-city rivals Chelsea. On the other hand, the North Londoners splashed the cash on Mateus Fernandes to add more creativity to the final third.
However, despite making such a significant investment in new players during the summer, Spurs have still been unable to find momentum in the Premier League this season. First-choice striker Dominic Solanke has failed to step up in recent weeks, scoring zero goals in the league across the opening five matches. Meanwhile, new signings Omar Marmoush and Savio have also failed to end their goal-scoring droughts in the league, despite getting into some promising positions in the final third.
Tottenham among other clubs keeping tabs on Real Madrid star Endrick
Tottenham were determined to bolster their attack by bringing in additional reinforcements during the business end of the transfer window. A prolific goalscorer was being targeted who could potentially displace Dominic Solanke in the starting eleven under Roberto de Zerbi. As a result, the Lilywhites tried to lure Real Madrid star Endrick to N17 by offering him a key role in the team for the ongoing season. However, the deal failed to materialise as the La Liga giants did not want to lose the talented forward without finding a replacement.
Now, however, recent reports have suggested that Spurs are once again in the mix to sign the Brazilian in the upcoming transfer window. Endrick has fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu following a slow start to the season due to an injury. The Lilywhites are promising him regular game time, which is something the 20-year-old desperately needs to fulfil his potential this season. Roberto de Zerbi is also keen on adding Endrick to the squad, giving the green light to pursue a deal for the youngster.
But Spurs might need to act quickly if they are to land the Real Madrid talent in the coming months. Alongside other Premier League clubs, European teams are also believed to be circling for Endrick’s signature in the winter. As per Calciomercato, AC Milan and AS Roma are keen on signing the 20-year-old on an initial loan deal in the January transfer window. Both clubs want to add additional firepower to the final third as they aim to compete for the Serie A title. They also believe that signing Endrick would give them a cutting edge over their opponents during the second half of the campaign.
So, what next for Endrick? Well, the answer remains the same for now. Recent reports suggest that the Brazilian is not willing to give up on his Real Madrid dream as he aims to succeed at the Bernabeu in the coming years. The Los Blancos are also not keen on losing the talented forward after investing heavily in his development in recent years. As a result, the 20-year-old is now set to hold talks with his parent club over his game time under Jose Mourinho this season. If the situation still does not improve in the coming months, then a possible winter exit cannot be ruled out.
