Manchester United are looking to bring in a new left-back, after Gary Neville criticised his former club's failure to strengthen their defence in the summer transfer window.
Neville said: "I'm amazed that United haven't added at the back. I'm amazed that Liverpool haven't added two full-backs because they need two full-backs.
"Arsenal are strengthening when they're absolutely at the top. Manchester United and Liverpool aren't in that position. So I'm surprised at the windows these two great clubs have had."
As things stand, Luke Shaw is the only senior left-back available to Michael Carrick, with Patrick Dorgu most commonly featuring in a more advanced role since arriving from Lecce in the 2025 January transfer window.

Lewis Hall was a target for the Red Devils during the summer, and there were suggestions the Newcastle United defender would've been keen on a move to Old Trafford, but he ultimately ended up remaining at St. James' Park.
Since then, Hall has continued to impress for the Magpies, amassing two goal involvements in the Premier League this season, but the Englishman has signed a new contract, which ties him down until 2031.

Man Utd plotting move for Tyrick Mitchell

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Man United have now entered contention to sign Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell, who could be available for a cut-price fee, given that his current contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
Palace are planning to pull out of all the stops to convince Mitchell to sign a new contract, but there is growing interest in his services, with Liverpool and Chelsea also joining the race for his signature.
A deal could be possible in January, as it will be the Eagles' last chance to cash-in for a small fee, rather than losing the Englishman for free in the summer, and there are indications he could be a strong addition to Carrick's squad.
The 27-year-old, who pockets £50,000-a-week has been Palace's first choice left-back for a number of years, making 55 appearances in all competitions last season, and HLTCO's Dan Cook has stated he was one of their most important players.
An experienced full-back, who has now collected two England caps and made 218 appearances in the Premier League, Mitchell could be the answer to Man United's problems at left-back, and his potential availability for a bargain fee is an added bonus.
