Manchester United have completed the signing of highly-rated young midfielder Karim Cassim from Manchester City.
Cassim has now officially joined United and will begin featuring in academy fixtures after the club received Premier League ratification.
The 17-year-old is expected to feature for Man United Under-18s managed by Darren Fletcher.
The Red Devils believe that Cassim is an energetic box-to-box midfielder who has the talent to become a future first-team player.
The teenager is an exciting prospect, but he remains raw and will need the right guidance and environment to turn his potential into consistent performances.
Cassim is not the only young talent United are targeting, with the club also closing in on 16-year-olds David Eze of Manchester City and Isaac Konde of Liverpool.
The trio are all highly rated and could soon get the opportunity to develop within one of the most famous academies in English football.
INEOS have repeatedly demonstrated their desire to recruit promising young players from across the English football pyramid, both for the senior squad and the academy.
United have already followed a similar route with Jack Fletcher and Tyler Fletcher, who both arrived from Manchester City before making their first-team debuts last season.
Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven were also recruited from Arsenal. Obi made his United debut during the 2024-25 campaign under former manager Ruben Amorim and is currently gaining valuable experience on a season-long loan at Eredivisie club Willem II.
Heaven has established himself as a regular first-team option and has already started two matches this campaign.
United will now hope that their continued investment in youth development produces another generation of academy graduates capable of making the step up to Old Trafford.
