Carrick’s first five Premier League games have produced only one win. United beat Ipswich 5-2 in their opening match at Old Trafford, but that was followed by defeats against Hull City and Manchester City and draws with Everton and Fulham.
Manchester United are looking at Antonio Conte as pressure grows on Michael Carrick, according to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato.
The report claims Manchester United have already been in contact with representatives of the former Chelsea and Tottenham boss, although no decision has been made on Carrick’s position.
The poor start has also seen United knocked out of the EFL Cup by Brighton. They currently sit 12th in the Premier League with five points.

United’s latest result was a 1-1 draw at Fulham, where Matheus Cunha’s deflected effort rescued a point. Michael Carrick now has the international break to prepare for Tottenham’s visit to Old Trafford on October 10.
Several potential replacements have already been mentioned, with Conte reportedly among the names at the top of the list.
The Italian has plenty of experience in the Premier League. He took Chelsea to the title in his first season in charge in 2016/17 and won the FA Cup the following campaign. Conte later managed Tottenham between 2021 and 2023.
His most recent job was at Napoli, where he won Serie A and the Supercoppa Italiana during his two seasons in charge.
