Weight-loss drugs such as Mounjaro come in an injectable pen, but Rooney has rubbished talk of using such jabs.

"It's a shame because I've been working really hard to lose weight. Apparently I've been on the pen."
Rooney reveals nose surgery
However, Rooney did have to have to go under the knife for his nose. He broke it twice during his career and admitted it was causing him issues.
"I couldn't blow out one side of my nose and so I had it fixed," he explained.
Describing the surgery, he said: "It's actually really lucky I've got no black eyes, but I've still got two plastic tubes up my nose, which are coming out very soon. I can't wait for them to come out.
"They've cut [under my nostrils]… that's all stitched – a little bit uncomfortable."

What has Rooney been up to since retiring?
Having hung up his boots in 2021 following a spell with Derby County, initially as a player-coach, Rooney went on to manage the team full-time.
He later had stints in charge of MLS club DC United – where he had also previously played – Birmingham City and Plymouth Argyle.
However, he hasn't managed since leaving Plymouth at the end of 2024.
Instead, Rooney has become a prominent pundit on the BBC.
Working for the broadcaster at this summer's World Cup, he is also part of the punditry line-up on Match of the Day.
