Ruud Gullit has insisted that AC Milan must give time for Ruben Amorim to build things, believing that he did ‘well’ at Manchester United.
Gullit is someone who was present for some of the best days in Milan’s history. He arrived at Milan from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 1987 for the then-record fee of 13.5 billion lire, tying himself to the Rossoneri until 1993.

He was a star in Arrigo Sacchi’s Immortals and Fabio Capello’s Invincibles. After a year at Sampdoria, he made a brief return to Milan (from July to November 1994), before returning to the Blucerchiati and finally ending his career at Chelsea.
In total, Gullit made 171 official appearances for Milan, scoring 56 goals and providing 38 assists, and lifting a remarkable 12 trophies: three Scudetti, two European Cups, two European Super Cups and two Intercontinental Cups. He recently became a Hall of Fame member, too.

Gullit: Milan in a ‘transition’
Gullit has given an interview to the Spanish newspaper MARCA and among the many topics discussed, the Dutch legend also had his say on Rúben Amorim and his start to life at Milan. His words are via PianetaMilan.
“Amorim did well at Manchester United, and I think he’s doing well at AC Milan, too, but they’re also in a transition phase, and the only way to learn to get out of this situation is to be more creative,” Gullit said.
“The Premier League has the money, but it doesn’t always have the best players in England. They’re the highest-paid, but that doesn’t mean they’re the best. I look at some Premier League players and think, ‘Well, you’re lucky to play there and earn so much. Really lucky.”
