United have won only one of their first five Premier League games, while the defeat to Brighton also ended their Carabao Cup run. Brown said Carrick cannot be held solely responsible for the problems within the squad.
Antonio Conte enters the conversation
The pressure around Carrick has also led to a fresh managerial link. According to our Antonio Conte report, Italian outlet Calciomercato claims United have made contact with representatives of the former Chelsea and Tottenham manager.
No decision has been made on Carrick’s position, but Conte is reportedly among the names being considered as United sit 12th with five points from five league matches.
United sign Man City academy midfielder

Cassim played for City’s Under-18s last season and has represented England at Under-17 level. United are also working on deals involving other young players as the club continues to strengthen its academy recruitment.
Luke Shaw’s future takes another turn
Manchester United are reportedly prepared to offer Luke Shaw only a short-term extension beyond his current contract. As detailed in our full Shaw report, Shaw remains under contract until 2027, but the club are already planning for a younger long-term option at left-back.
Tyrick Mitchell is one of the players being considered, with the Crystal Palace defender entering the final months of his current deal.
Manchester United post record revenue
