Its fair to say that Real Madrid defender Denzel Dumfries was not too happy with Joshua Kimmich during the Netherlands draw with Germany. With Brian Brobbey down injured, Dumfries expected that Kimmich would stop playing. However, Kimmich decided to play on, something that did not sit well with Dumfries. Speaking to the **media**after the game, the Real Madrid man said ‘We know Kimmich. A world-class player, but you know his tricks. He plays on‘. That this eventually led to the opening goal from Felix Nmecha made it even worse for Dumfries and the Netherlands.
Dumfries went on to say ‘I did go and confront him, yes. Absolutely. In the end, you still get the feeling that it wasn’t right‘. In the end, a late Cody Gakpo goal saved Dumfries and his fellow Dutch teammates from an opening game defeat in the Nations League. Next up for Orange is a clash with Serbia away from home on the 27th of September. They then face Greece away from home before welcoming Serbia to Amsterdam on the 4th of October to finish out this international window.
