Internationals: Jedi captains United States in big win

Antonee Robinson captained the United States for the first time as they recorded a 4-2 friendly victory over Chile.

It was Jedi’s 60th senior cap, and he played the full 90 minutes as goals from Sebastian Berhalter, Julian Hall, Chris Richards and Mathis Albert secured the win.

The full-back said: “It’s a huge honour. I’ve been the young kid coming on the team when older players led by example, and now I get to do that for a bunch of other guys making their debuts. It means a lot to me.”

There was also a special presentation for former Fulham defender Tim Ream before the match in St. Louis, following the 38-year-old’s decision to retire from international football.

The centre-back made 86 appearances for his country, representing the United States at the 2022 and 2026 FIFA World Cups and winning two Concacaf Nations League titles.
