Over the past 12 months, LFC has strengthened how environmental, social and governance standards inform purchasing, supplier and partnership decisions. The approach supports greater supply-chain transparency, responsible business practices and the club’s wider net-zero ambitions under The Red Way.
Around two-thirds of club partners now support The Red Way, while 52 per cent of suppliers have carbon targets and net-zero ambitions.
All new LFC own-brand products met the club’s sustainable product criteria, and 97 per cent of packaging included sustainably sourced or recycled elements.
The approach has continued to receive industry recognition and extends the club’s environmental and social work beyond its own operations by contributing to LFC’s supply-chain sustainability and net-zero ambitions under The Red Way.
Rishi Jain, director of impact at LFC, said: “Reaching the Champion tier with 45 GOAL medals, including 19 at gold level, is an important milestone and reflects the progress being made across the club.
“This recognition belongs to colleagues, partners and suppliers who continue to put The Red Way into practice.
“We are proud of what has been achieved, but our focus remains on building on that progress and delivering meaningful, measurable change across our operations as we work towards our goals.”
Kristen Fulmer, executive director, GOAL, said: “The GOAL Medals validate Liverpool FC’s meaningful, measurable sustainability progress year to year.
“Their commitment to The Red Way and engagement with GOAL show how ambitious sustainability goals can translate into tangible action across stadium operations, communities, partnerships, and beyond.
“We’re proud to recognise Liverpool’s progress and new tier of leadership and look forward to seeing the club build on this momentum in the future.”
