Tottenham Hotspur have begun preparations for a huge clash away to Man United at Old Trafford on October 10, with Roberto De Zerbi’s men still looking for their first win of the Premier League season.
10 Spurs players have resumed training at Hotspur Way this week after Spurs’ non-internationals were given last week off.
Their focus will be on their trip to Old Trafford, with the Lilywhites desperate for a win after picking up just two points from their first five league matches and languishing at the bottom of the table.
De Zerbi will be hoping that his international players return unscathed from the international break, but he has received some bad news ahead of the United clash.

Bruno Fernandes is set to be fit to face Tottenham
Spurs Web previously covered that Man United suffered a double injury blow ahead of their clash against the Lilywhites.
Bruno Fernandes missed Portugal’s clash against Norway on Sunday due to an injury, while Patrick Dorgu was forced off with an injury after 30 minutes during Denmark’s 2-0 win over Wales.
ESPN now reports that Dorgu has sustained a hamstring injury and has returned to United for treatment.
The left-back is currently being assessed by the Red Devils’ medical staff and is set for tests over the coming days to ascertain the severity of the injury.
However, Fernandes has stayed back with Portugal and could even feature for Jorge Jesus’ side against Denmark on Friday.
The report claims that the United captain has been managing the same injury issue since Michael Carrick’s side beat Sabah FK in the Champions League at the start of September.
It thus appears that Fernandes is in line to feature against Tottenham unless he aggravates the injury during the international break.
Could James Maddison start for Spurs against United?
Spurs have been struggling for creativity this season, and the man to unlock their potential in the final third could be James Maddison, who is still waiting for his first start of the campaign.
De Zerbi said about Maddison two weeks ago: “Maddison is for sure a different player, a special player. But he has to be fit, he has to be in the right physical condition. Because the Premier League intensity is incredible.”
The 29-year-old would have had three weeks to build up his fitness during the break, and Spurs fans will hope that the former Leicester man is ready to start at Old Trafford.
