'Bring it out' - Aston Villa striker keen to help new boys shine

Tammy Abraham says it is the job of Villa’s experienced players to help the club’s exciting new young guns reach their potential.

The striker believes the future is bright following the summer recruitment of emerging stars Ibrahim Mbaye and Johan Manzambi.

But he also warned both will take time to get up to speed in the Premier League.

Mbaye has been limited to just two substitute appearances in the top flight since joining from Paris Saint-Germain for £47million last month.

Manzambi scored his first goal for the club in the 3-2 win at Tottenham prior to the international break.

Abraham said: “Ibrahim is sharp and fast and can really bring something to help this team. He knows that.

“We need to help him, he is still a young lad. It is the same with Manzambi, who has just come back from injury.

“You can see the talent and the skill is there. We just need to help them bring it out.”

Mbaye and Manzambi are both currently away on international duty.

The former scored the only goal for Senegal in their win over Ethiopia on Tuesday evening with another of Villa’s summer signings, Nicolas Jackson, providing the assist.

Abraham, meanwhile, is part of the Villa squad currently in Spain on a warm weather training camp.

Unai Emery’s team will play Sevilla on Friday night before returning to the UK. Villa resume their Premier League campaign at home to Brentford on October 10.
