Joelinton has been out since the start of the season with a groin issue, while Gonzalez missed the 2-1 win over Hull City due to a concussion.
The Football Association’s concussion protocol blocked Gonzalez from playing or training for 12 days following his concussion sustained during the 4-1 defeat at Leeds United on September 14.

Gonzalez has now been cleared to return to training and was part of the limited training session that took place in front of the media at The KNOX on Tuesday. The extended international break also means the Spaniard will have two full weeks of training before being back in action.
After Gonzalez’s concussion at Leeds, Newcastle head coach Matthias Jaissle said: “Yeah, with Nico, you know, as the manager, and also we as a club, have the responsibility.
“He had that knock-out feeling, as you all saw. We were also responsible enough to take him off the pitch, even though he looked fine then, but there are also some rules, especially for that occasion.
“Independent of how important he is, and how important it is to win the match. We're all human beings as well, and we take that seriously, so therefore we made the decision to take him off the pitch.”

FA concussion protocol
The Football Association rules state that any player who suffers a concussion must be ruled out for at least 12 days after the initial head injury, provided symptoms have cleared, or seven days if exceptional criteria are met.
Newcastle’s non-international players were given a short break from their club duties following the win over Hull City but have returned to training, in limited numbers this week.
Joelinton was back involved and is set to be available for his first appearance of the season against Coventry City while Anthony Elanga, Dan Burn, William Osula, Jacob Ramsey, Tino Livramento and Amar Dedic were missing due to injury. Fabian Schar was also not spotted on the grass on Tuesday, but no injury has been reported.
The Magpies were also without Lewis Hall, Yoane Wissa, Aladji Bamba, Malick Thiaw, Sean Steur, Bazoumana Toure, Matias Fernandez-Pardo, Lukas Hornicek, Ewen Jaouen and Lewis Miley due to international duty.
