Ipswich Town midfielder Exequiel Palacios bagged an assist for Argentina in their 4-0 win against Bolivia last night.

Lionel Scaloni's side returned to action for the first time since the 2026 World Cup final, where they were beaten 1-0 by Spain in New York.

Palacios started as they faced fellow South American side Bolivia in a friendly clash in Cordoba. Argentina took the lead through Lautaro Martinez, who scored with 19 minutes on the clock, with Palacios then setting up Nico Paz's dinked finish with a sumptuous through ball from deep.

Former Spurs defender Cristian Romero added a third after the break, with substitute Jose Lopez wrapping up a convincing victory late on.

Argentina have two more friendly matches to play, hosting Burkina Faso (Sunday, October 4th) and Benin (Wednesday, October 7th). The latter is set to be Lionel Messi's final international match.

Palacios, who now has 42 senior caps to his name, became the first Ipswich player to represent 'La Albiceleste'.
