For the second time in three weeks a car accident outside Hull City's training ground has seen a car flipped over. On September 11 this year Hull City winger Sorba Thomas escaped unscathed after a car crash which saw his car flipped onto its roof.

Now, less than three weeks later and after warnings by residents and a local councillor, a second car has been involved in a similar accident with photos emerging this morning of a vehicle on its side down the narrow Millhouse Woods Lane road which leads to the club's Cottingham training facility.

Images have emerged online of a Mercedes car on its side, with full details not known at this stage as to how the accident occurred. While no confirmation has been given by the club at this stage, Hull Live understands the vehicle belongs to summer signing Lucas Gourna-Douath, who was driving and has walked away from the accident unscathed, just like Thomas.

A statement given to Hull Live from Humberside Police said: "Officers and emergency services were called to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham at around 8.30am this morning (Thursday, 1 October 2026). Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the collision.”

Millhouse Woods Lane is a very narrow street that leads to the club's training ground, with little room for cars to get through, and as such warnings have been issued in the past regarding the speed some vehicles have been going while travelling down the narrow stretch of road.

In the wake of the accident involving Sorba Thomas last month, Phil Redshaw, a local councillor issued a statement which said he had raised an issue with the club involving the need for players to be careful in approaching the training ground.

He said last month: "I wrote to the Hull City club secretary on Sunday asking them to remind players to be careful driving down the road because of the residents’ concerns. I wanted them to remind their staff to drive with extra care, because they get new players in every season.”

Hull City have been approached for a comment.
