Newcastle United supporters react as the club’s new crest is unveiled.
Newcastle United have changed their club badge for the first time in 38 years - and it’s going to take some getting used to for supporters.
The Magpies announced two years ago plans to change the crest after its current one had “limitations and flaws in a modern digital world".
Not all fans were in favour of ditching the current badge, but after consultation through supporter groups and workshops, it was agreed the club would refine the badge rather than reinvent it.

Earlier this year, supporters were presented with three options, with 27,348 supporters—including men's and women's season ticket holders and Mags and Mags+ members—voting for their favourite.
And of that number, 17,710 fans - equalling an overwhelming majority of 64.8% - selected the design that has now been officially unveiled.
Many supporters have come out in support of the new badge, but naturally, others are still coming to terms with it.
“It’s really not anything to get worked up about either way,” @MacItSo wrote on X. “It’s marginal change and clearly covers what they need for a more simple design. But still clearly represents the essence of our previous incarnation of the badge.. So let’s all get on with life eh.”

@JamieTheMag said something similar: “If you’re in any way bothered by this, you’re far too easily triggered - if they’d have just brought it out without saying anything there’d have been a few mutters at most. It’s the same #NUFC badge tidied up for digital effect.”
Meanwhile, @Potts_131 said: “Actually quite like it. It still looks 95% the same, it’s not one of those Man City style circular monstrosities; it’s still in keeping with our recent badge heritage and identity.”
However, @RJHale give a far less positive view: “Don't understand the need for ‘simplifying’ really, which was the reason given. The old one was stitched on with no issues, now they're mostly printed and stuck on it's too complex? It's better than it could've been, but it's all a bit ‘AI, modernise this’.”
