The summer signing has seen his chances limited so far.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis has promised he won’t stop fighting to make his breakthrough at Villa.
The 24-year-old centre-back has made just one appearance - in the Carabao Cup - since making a £30million deadline day move from Southampton.
Harwood-Bellis was also left out of Villa’s squad for the group stages of the Champions League but is determined to prove himself to boss Unai Emery.
He told VillaTV: “I hope to get a few more games and try to get myself into the team, which is difficult with the standard of players here.
“I’ll keep working and I won’t stop until I get my run of games.
“It was a tough move, obviously being at Southampton and having a lot of affection for the club and then coming here, I didn’t know what to expect.
“The lads have been brilliant, the staff have been brilliant, and it’s a proper club. Everyone I speak to says, ‘Wow, what a club’. That’s the feeling everyone has at Villa.
“I’m really grateful and proud to be here.
Harwood-Bellis was one of 10 arrivals during the transfer window. And though around half of Emery’s squad are now away on international duty, the defender believes this week’s training camp in Spain is a good way to bring players closer together.
Fellow new boys Joao Gomes, Alejandro Garnacho and Leon Goretzka are also on the trip.
Villa play Sevilla in a friendly on Friday night before returning to the UK.
Harwood-Bellis said: “You are spending more time together than usual. Usually it is in, you do your work, have a bit to eat and go home.
“Out here we are chilling around and spending more time together in the hotel. It’s a good way to build the team.”
Midfielder George Hemmings is also with the squad in Spain after pulling out of the England under-20s squad last week.
The 19-year-old is believed to be prioritising his chances at Villa after starting four of the club’s first five Premier League matches.
