Against the backdrop of a hugely positive start to the season for Leeds United, one big talking point remains - the future of head coach Daniel Farke.

‌

‌

The German arrived at Elland Road with the remit of getting Leeds back in the Premier League and after losing the play-off final at Wembley Stadium, he did just that a year later with a record points haul. Safety was then the next objective and establishing Leeds in the Premier League, which the head coach is now two years into the job of doing.

‌

An unbeaten start to the season and sat in fifth place on goal difference after five games, Farke looks on course to secure progress this season as party of a continued rebuilding of Leeds as a top flight force.

‌

However, come the end of the season there is no contract in place. Farke ended the previous season by saying it was 'job done', but he's eager to stay at Elland Road and is in talks with 49ers Enterprises and the board over striking an agreement for a new deal.

‌

According to former Leeds manager Simon Grayson, an announcement on a deal should be just around the corner.

"I think he (Farke) has dismissed a lot of it because when there have been the games, like there has, he doesn't want to take anything away from the preparations for the team. I'll be surprised if something doesn't happen in this next couple of weeks with it all," Grayson told Leeds Live.

"I think he wants to stay, the club want him to stay, so I'd be very surprised if something doesn't happen very soon."
