It's not been an easy start to the season for Leeds United's Dan James. The winger is yet to start a Premier League game for the Whites and in his three appearances has a total of just 52 minutes in the league this campaign so far.

James remains a key figure for Wales, however. On Thursday night he popped up with an equalising goal against Norway in a match the Welsh went on to win in their Nations League group.

In his second consecutive start for Craig Bellamy's team, James arrived at the back post to tuck away a Sorba Thomas cross in the 38th minute, before being fouled early in the second half which led to the match-winner from Neco Williams.

‌

James' performance drew wide praise, not least from ex-Wales international Robert Earnshaw, who believes the winger could have double figures in goals this season if he repeats what he did for the national team when he gets back to Leeds.

"I do want to pick him out because I thought he was excellent and it was interesting,” said Earnshaw, speaking on the BBC after the match.

"A few weeks ago I did his game against Nottingham Forest for Leeds in the cup and he was just as good as then. His running, when he goes behind, when he has the one v one dribble on and then now, this is what I want to see from him more because I want him to get in at the far post because there's ten goals a season in that far post.

"He's got one of them, there's nine to go but there's ten goals a season in that far post. If you get yourself in there every so often you will get goals and I thought he was excellent. I thought Sorba Thomas on the other side was excellent and inevitably the two do create the goal for Dan James."
