Wilson arrived from Premier League counterparts Nottingham Forest a year ago, while former Sunderland manager Ross joined the Magpies in 2023 as head of coach development.
Ross later moved into technical roles, becoming head of strategic technical football partnerships and head of football strategy, before his appointment as assistant sporting director was confirmed last week following the departures of recruitment duo Steve Nickson and Andy Howe.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, the Magpies also poached James Fowler from Rangers to become their Academy Scouting Operations manager.
