Jean-Mattéo Bahoya (21) is the latest victim of what has been a costly international window for France’s U21s. The Leeds United attacking midfielder joins the likes of Ethan Mbappé, Senny Mayulu, and Ewen Jaouen in sustaining an injury while away with _Les Bleuets._
Mbappé and Mayulu sustained injuries during the game against Estonia at the end of last month. Both are out for several weeks, whilst Jaouen suffered a hamstring injury during Thursday’s training session.
Bahoya’s injury came from an impact in the game against Luxembourg (3-2) on Saturday night. The attacking midfielder did recover before being forced to withdraw in the 37th minute. He was replaced by Tottenham Hotspur’s Mathys Tel. Speaking post-match, France U21 manager Gérald Baticle said that he was not in a position to diagnose the injury, beyond stating that it was the ankle that was affected and that there would be further tests on the injury.
