Sunderland are gearing up for a demanding few weeks of football after the international break
Florent Ghisolfi says Sunderland will assess what they need to do in the January window but that his main focus at the club is working with the group in place to meet the demands of a hectic schedule.
After a busy summer transfer window and a hectic deadline day in which Sunderland signed three players and fought off a late hijack from Crystal Palace to secure the signing of Malick Fofana, Ghisolfi has also secured a major contract breakthrough with Enzo Le Fée penning a new long-term deal. The director of football has had a brief chance to rest during the international break and says his key focus will be working with the current squad through a demanding schedule that he believes is a big opportunity to grow.

"We'll see [about January]. At the moment, we have a big challenge with the Premier League, the Europa League, the cups, and then we'll see what we need to do. But the market is not the most important thing for me right now, it's how we will manage the team now and we will help the club to grow and approach the four competitions.

"We all have to grow. As a director of football, as a manager, as a staff, as a team. This will be a good challenge [playing in four competitions], but we are not afraid about this story and we take this as an opportunity to grow."
Sunderland are back in action against Brighton at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, the nine games in a month before the November international break.
