Liverpool face rivals Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
The match will be eagerly anticipated as it is City’s first match since the club were found guilty on all 115 charges of breaching the Premier League’s financial rules, with their punishment yet to be announced.
The Citizens sit top of the Premier League table with a perfect record after five games, while Liverpool occupy sixth place and remain unbeaten in the top flight so far.
Ahead of Sunday’s huge game at Anfield, it has emerged that those in charge of Liverpool have made a huge decision on the immediate future of one of their young stars.
As reported by Football Insider, the Reds are adamant that young defender Giovanni Leoni will not be loaned out when the transfer window reopens in January.
The report claims that the Merseyside outfit have made it clear that the teenager will not be available during the mid-season window, despite Italian giants Juventus showing interest in the player ahead of the window reopening.

Leoni, 19, joined Liverpool from Italian side Parma in 2025 having made just 17 appearances for his former side.
He suffered a cruciate ligament tear shortly after arriving in England, though, and has therefore made just one appearance for the Reds in all competitions so far.
It is claimed that the teenager is expected to return to action this month, although he is likely to be eased back in after more than 12 months on the sidelines.
The report also suggests that Andoni Iraola and those in charge of the Reds perceive the young defender as a player with a bright future who could play a significant role for the club in the coming years.
