Having wrapped up Vicario on loan in August, Juventus plotting cut-price signing of another…

Destiny Udogie has been Tottenham Hotspur’s first-choice left-back since the start of the 2023/24 season. He had a bright start to life in N17 under then head coach Ange Postecoglou, offering a balance of attacking flair and defensive solidity from the left flank.

Unfortunately, the Italian international has been plagued by injuries in the last couple of years. This has stopped the 23-year-old from taking his game to the next level at White Hart Lane. Due to his persistent injury problems, Destiny Udogie did not play a minute for the Lilywhites in pre-season.

Without pre-season minutes, the left-back has not managed to make an eye-catching impact this campaign thus far. The Tottenham defender has already missed a couple of Premier League games due to a muscle problem. As a result, he was left out of the Italy squad for the Nations League by Roberto Mancini. Yet, Udogie continues to be linked with an exit from the club.

Juventus plot bargain deal for Destiny Udogie

Serie A giants Juventus have been long-term admirers of Udogie, and they could now be tempted to capitalise on Tottenham’s misfortune. The Old Lady are in search of a new left-back and have set their sights on Atalanta’s Lorenzo Bernasconi as their top target. However, Atalanta do not want to part ways with Bernasconi and are expected to demand around €20m to €25m.

As a result, Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport are exploring cheaper alternatives and have identified Udogie as Plan B. An offer of €15m could be deemed enough to persuade Tottenham to sell the left-back in 2027.

Tottenham very unlikely to entertain such a low offer for Udogie

Udogie’s Tottenham career has brought plenty of frustration. He has managed just 99 appearances since joining in 2023, scoring two goals and providing seven assists. That simply is not good enough. The Italian’s persistent fitness problems has seen Andy Robertson arrive on a free transfer from Liverpool in the summer and quickly become Roberto De Zerbi’s first-choice left-back.

If Udogie cannot stay fit and put together an extended run in the first team, his Tottenham career could come to an end. That would disappoint plenty of fans who still believe there is a quality player waiting to explode.

That said, however, even if the Lilywhites decide to part ways with Udogie, they’d certainly not entertain an offer in the region of €15m. Certainly, Spurs would hold out for at least double that fee if Juventus decide to test their resolve.
