Joshua Zirkzee was one of the attackers Juventus desperately wanted to sign during the last transfer window. The Bianconeri tried to secure him on loan before eventually turning to Nick Woltemade.
Zirkzee is struggling for relevance at Manchester United, but he was one of the finest attackers in Serie A when he played for Bologna. Juventus wanted to bring him back to Italy, but the club could not compete with Manchester United for his signature.
The Dutchman remains on Juventus’s transfer list, and the Bianconeri could attempt to sign him sooner than expected. They are considering another approach during the January transfer window.
Juventus faces Milan competition
Juventus will try to reach an agreement with Manchester United, but Calciomercato reports that AC Milan is also interested in signing Zirkzee.
Milan is considering an initial loan move, potentially with an option to buy, as it seeks to strengthen its attack for the second half of the season. Ruben Amorim would reportedly welcome the opportunity to reunite with the forward.
Zirkzee could benefit from returning to Serie A, where he previously produced his best football. A move back to Italy could help him regain his confidence and rediscover the form that made him such an attractive player to leading European clubs.

Juve ready to compete
If Manchester United opens the door for Zirkzee to leave, Juventus is expected to step up its interest. The Bianconeri do not want AC Milan to complete the transfer without a fight.
Juventus believes Zirkzee could provide greater quality and flexibility in attack. He can operate as a forward or drop deeper to link play, which would give the club another option in the final third.
Milan may have the advantage of offering a clear route back to regular football, but Juventus can also present an appealing opportunity. The Bianconeri will hope their previous interest and desire to sign him are enough to win the race.
The outcome could depend on Manchester United’s willingness to accept a loan deal and Zirkzee’s preference between the two Italian clubs.
