Tottenham could battle Arsenal for Real Madrid star who has found himself largely discarded by…

Tottenham Hotspur splashed over £300million on new signings this summer to revamp the squad after a forgetful last season. The club’s hierarchy showed ambition and backed Roberto De Zerbi to turn the club’s fortunes around. However, it hasn’t had the desired effect on the pitch yet.

Spurs remain winless after their opening five Premier League games, a run of form which has highlighted clear issues within the squad. The North Londoners have been suspect at the back, but they have been poor going forward too, as demonstrated by only two goals scored in five games.

With Richarlison frozen out of the squad, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski still returning to full fitness, and Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert sidelined with an ACL injury, Roberto De Zerbi has largely been restricted to the use of Savinho, Omar Marmoush, Dominic Solanke and Mathys Tel. The quartet have yet to produce a goal contribution in the Premier League, leaving De Zerbi asking for reinforcements in attack.

Tottenham could battle Arsenal for Real Madrid sensation

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham and Arsenal remain interested in signing Real Madrid sensation Endrick. Real Madrid remain firm on their position of keeping Endrick, despite growing frustration from the youngster and his camp.

The situation for Endrick at the Santiago Bernabeu has become critical after an encouraging start to his career in Europe. Following a massive outlay in the summer, the Brazilian international has found himself largely discarded by new manager Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff. He has been limited to just a cameo appearance off the bench against Elche across the first eight games of the ongoing campaign.

Endrick’s representatives held talks with Real Madrid during the international break, and while the club understands his frustration, they have no intention of sanctioning a permanent departure. However, the report adds that Los Blancos are prepared to listen to proposals for a January loan, but only on a straight loan without an option to buy.

Interest from Tottenham and Arsenal persists, but AC Milan and AS Roma are leading the chase for the centre-forward’s signature. The Serie A duo would be comfortable with Real Madrid’s preferred structure of a loan without an option to buy. Also, the possibility of moving to either AC Milan or AS Roma does appeal to the talented youngster, particularly given the opportunity to secure regular first-team minutes.

It remains to be seen how Tottenham reacts to Real’s stance on Endrick. If the South American prodigy wants to move to Serie A on loan in January, Spurs must shift their focus elsewhere when it comes to improving their forward options.
