Everton Trio Feature As England Ease Past Czechia

Jordan Pickford, Jarrad Branthwaite and James Garner all featured for England on Tuesday evening, as the Three Lions comfortably eased past Czechia with a 3-0 victory in the UEFA Nations League.

Pickford started and played the full 90 minutes at Wembley, keeping another clean sheet — his 49th for England — en route to victory for Thomas Tuchel’s side. The Everton No.1 was also handed the captain's armband following Harry Kane's substitution late in the second half.

Defender Branthwaite and midfielder Garner were introduced in the 73rd minute.

A Kane cross set England on their way in the first half, with Czechia's Vladimir Coufal turning the low ball into his own net.

England's No. 9 — making a record-equalling 125th senior appearance for his nation — doubled the lead before half-time, before adding his second of the night early in the second half.

Both Garner and Branthwaite entered the fray and produced composed cameo displays en route to seeing out the win in front of a packed Wembley crowd.

Elsewhere, Tyler Dibling scored the only goal for England Under-21s as they fell to a 3-1 defeat against the Republic of Ireland in Cork. Having started on the substitutes' bench, Harrison Armstrong and Tyrique George played the final 30 minutes of the contest.

Braiden Graham also played 84 minutes for Northern Ireland Under-21s in their Euro qualifying 1-0 defeat against Greece. Fraser Barnsley and Jack Patterson were unused substitutes.

All Everton players are set to return from international duty to Finch Farm later this week ahead of the return of domestic league action.
