With the first international break now coming to a close, Liverpool is moving closer to the winter transfer window, where several key moves could be on the horizon.
The Reds pushed hard to improve some positions over the summer, but there are some glaring weaknesses in the team, particularly at right-back, on the right wing, and in the midfield.
For those to be addressed in the long term, Liverpool could look to next summer, but the January market could offer some short-term relief or possible bargain opportunities that may not have otherwise been on the table. While targets are being drawn up for the future, here's a look at the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumors ahead of another busy day.
Kevin Schade (Brentford)

While Liverpool considers other options to improve the forward ranks on the right flank moving forward, TeamTalk reports that Brentford ace Kevin Schade is a potential target.
It's claimed that the Reds are viewed as "strong contenders" for the 24-year-old, who is seen as an option who could play across the frontline for the club.

The Bees would want £60 million ($79.6 million) to consider letting the German international leave, while Brentford is currently said to be in talks over a new contract to secure his future in West London.
Liverpool.com says: After missing out on the likes of Ismaila Sarr and Yankuba Minteh in the summer, it's no surprise to see Liverpool looking for other forward options for the near future.
Schade is a versatile option, with his ability to play on the right and as a central striker being of some clear appeal to the Reds with how the current squad is setup.
There may be some general concerns about the fit within the team, as well as the potential cost, but the trade-off would be some Premier League experience and the potential to improve further as he gets closer to the peak of his career.
Michael Kayode (Brentford)

The same report from TeamTalk suggests that fellow Brentford star Michael Kayode is another option for Liverpool to strengthen the team moving forward.
The Italian international has impressed at right-back since joining the Bees, and he would fill a problem position for the Reds by moving to Merseyside.
In his time so far in the Premier League, the 22-year-old has shown quality up and down the pitch, while he also has the surprise threat of a long throw in his locker.
A deal for Kayode wouldn't be cheap, considering the recent extension of his contract in west London, with a double swoop for the defender and Schade claimed to cost in the region of $151 million.
Liverpool.com says: Much like Schade, Kayode would fix a clear problem in the Liverpool squad by filling in at right-back, with the potential to hold that position for years to come.
There would be some clear concerns about the price and the step up, once again, but the early signs are that the 22-year-old is a quality option in the backline.
