Tottenham Hotspur’s start to the season has been pretty dismal, given that they are bottom of the Premier League after collecting just two points from their opening five games and they have already been eliminated from the Carabao Cup.
This is obviously frustrating for all concerned, especially as most supporters would have expected the club to build on the decent results at the end of last season under new coach Roberto De Zerbi, especially after the huge transfer spend this summer.
Today’s article will look at how Tottenham’s spending has impacted their financials and how they can afford it, both in terms of the real world, i.e. cash payments, and financial regulations.
It will also explain how this has been enabled by a change in Tottenham’s strategy under new leadership at the board and executive level.
