Andre Green, Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday

Supporters of Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday will be alerted to the latest transfer situation involving former Villa Park and Hillsborough winger, Andre Green, who has signed for yet another obscure club after leaving English football last year.
Green earned his major breakthrough in B6 during the Villans' Championship years under Roberto Di Matteo, Steve Bruce and Dean Smith before they returned to the Premier League in May 2019.
Since then, the Solihull-born winger has turned out for a plethora of clubs in the second tier and League One, but in recent times, has enjoyed plenty of footballing experiences on mainland Europe and beyond.
The 28-year-old, in doing so, has joined a long list of former homegrown talents who have featured in the Premier League and EFL that have plied their trade in some obscure countries and divisions after circumstances at specific clubs just didn't work out for them.
Villa and Wednesday are, undoubtedly, the two most high-profile clubs associated with Green's career, although it is fair to say that the Second City and Steel City outfits are currently worlds apart.
However, they will certainly find the identity of Green's latest employers rather intriguing.

It has been over a decade since Green made his debut for Villa during their relegation campaign from the Premier League, where he also became the fifth-youngest player to ever represent the club at senior level.
Overall, he played 48 times in claret and blue, with a high-profile moment being his last-gasp equaliser against Sheffield United in February 2019 - a game in which the aforementioned Smith's side were 3-0 down with less than 20 minutes to go.
After loan spells with Portsmouth, Preston North End and Charlton Athletic, Green permanently exited B6 in June 2020, although he wouldn't move to the Owls until January 2021 on an 18-month deal, although he only played 15 times for the club as they were relegated to League One.
With his last English club being Rotherham United, who he made 26 appearances for between 2023 and 2025 in an injury-hit campaign, Green has now continued his intriguing career path by signing a one-year deal with Indian Super League side, Kerala Blasters, whose season gets underway on Sunday.

The former England youth international has made 260 career appearances to-date, and whilst he may have become a slightly forgotten man in the sphere of English football, Green's move to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is the fourth foreign transfer of his career.
Indeed, after his exit from Sheffield Wednesday, the winger impressed at Slovan Bratislava with 26 goals in 81 appearances, winning the Slovak Super Liga twice.

As previously mentioned, Villa and Wednesday are operating at extremely different levels right now, but Green will likely be keeping close tabs on developments at both of his former sides.
Unai Emery's team, of course, qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the second time in three seasons as well as winning the UEFA Europa League in May, and will be hoping to kick on after a hectic summer which saw several key players depart.
The Owls, meanwhile, have started the David Storch era in a largely positive manner, even though there are still some question marks lingering over Henrik Pedersen's future in the dugout.
That said, it is also hard to escape current links between the two clubs, with Wednesday having Sil Swinkels, Barry Bannan and Louie Barry on their books - all of whom, like Green, progressed through the ranks at Bodymoor Heath.
