Minteh, Hinshelwood, Mitoma - Brighton injury news and return dates ahead of Sunderland

Brighton return to Premier League action at Sunderland this Saturday.

The Seagulls are third in the table with 10 points from five fixtures and just prior to the lengthy international break, they walloped Arsenal 3-0 at the Amex Stadium.

Fabian Hurzeler's Brighton will look to continue their impressive start at the Stadium of Light as they take on a Regis Le Bris team who are 14th in the standings.

Albion have had a number of injury issues this season and will hope to welcome back a number of key players this weekend.

Here’s an update on Brighton’s walking wounded.

Brighton injury news

Lewis Dunk - neck: The skipper missed Brighton's brilliant win against Arsenal with a neck injury. The 34-year-old was spotted in full training this week and - barring any late hiccups - will be available for selection.

Kaoru Mitoma - hamstring: The Japan international continues his recovery from hamstring surgery sustained at the back end of last season. The 29-year-old is said to be making good progress but Brighton will not rush the flying winger and Sunderland is likely to be too soon.

Yankuba Minteh - leg: The Gambian injured his leg in the 3-0 pre-season win against Roma and is yet to feature this term. Hurzeler said he hopes to have Minteh available after the international break. A place in the matchday squad could be possible but unlikely to start at the Stadium of Light.

Stefanos Tzimas - knee: The Greek striker suffered a "setback" just prior to the break as he recovers from an ACL injury. Hurzeler refused to place a timescale on his return but he could be looking towards November now.

Jack Hinshelwood - unspecified: The attacking midfielder picked up a small issue and has not played in the PL since scoring twice in the opener against Aston Villa. Hurzeler said he will be back after the break, with Sunderland a real possibility.

Mats Wieffer - knee: The Dutchman was smacked in the face by the ball at Chelsea and injured is knee as he fell over. The full back should be fit and available to face Sunderland.

Femi Azeez - strain: The £15m deadline day signing from Millwall was pictured in training this week and the winger should be available to make his debut.

Zadok Yohanna - unspecified: The £21m summer signings is working on his fitness and Hurzeler previously said the winger will be available after the international break. Hopefully Sunderland.

Evan Ferguson - ankle: The Ireland international striker is yet to feature this season as he continues his recovery from ankle surgery. Sunderland will likely be too soon and another who could be looking more towards November.

Pascal Struijk - thigh: The Dutchman impressed at the heart of the defence in the 3-0 win against Arsenal but the £18m summer arrival from Leeds picked up a slight hamstring issue. Brighton will hope the problem resolved during the break. Hurzeler said, "I hope it's nothing bad."

Yasin Ayari - illness: The midfielder was taken ill while on international duty and was isolated from the rest of the Sweden squad. His fitness will be assessed on his return and will be given every opportunity to recover in time for Saturday. He’s been key for Brighton of late.
