Tottenham Hotspur are back in Premier League action on Saturday evening when they travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

Roberto De Zerbi’s bottom-of-the-table side are searching for their first three points of the season. The North Londoners are winless in their first five matches, and have failed to score in four of them as their two solitary points so far have come from 0-0 draws with Nottingham Forest and Everton. They entered the international break off the back of a 3-2 home defeat to Aston Villa.

Spurs resume their Premier League duties with a trip to Manchester United, who have just five points from five games this season and entered the international hiatus following a 0-0 away draw at Fulham.

Team News for Manchester United vs. Tottenham

Man United were dealt a double blow during the international break when Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui were forced off with injuries.

Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt are also closing in on their respective returns, with both waiting for their first outings of the season. Benjamin Sesko remains a doubt. Aside from them, Michael Carrick will be hopeful that Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo will be match fit, as they featured in the 1-1 draw with Fulham before pulling out of the England squad.

As for Spurs, De Zerbi has been hampered by fresh injury issues to Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven. The Dutch duo both picked up problems while on international duty, although recent reports suggest their injuries are not serious and the central defenders could be fit to feature vs. Man United.

Pedro Porro joined Dejan Kulusevski, Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert and Mykhailo Mudryk on the treatment table after sustaining a hamstring injury against Aston Villa. Meanwhile, Kulusevski is closing in on a return from a serious knee injury, having started participating in team training and drills in recent weeks.

TTLB prediction for Manchester United vs. Tottenham

Carrick has only won one league game this season, and Man United are sitting 12th in the table. The Red Devils haven’t been convincing at all in each of their league games this season, bar probably the Ipswich Town win. They seem to be struggling with confidence and cohesion, with injuries to some key players also affecting their performance levels.

The same could be said about Tottenham. De Zerbi was backed significantly in the transfer window, with as many as 10 new faces arriving in North London. With several key and experienced players also departing the club as part of the squad rebuild, it has not been easy for De Zerbi to get a tune out of the players.

However, the performances have got better with more time and the gelling of new players, even if we faced defeat to Villa at home before the break. Tottenham’s record against United has been good in recent years, and if we can be defensively tight and be direct in our attacking approach, De Zerbi can get his first win of the league campaign.

All factors considered, though, we feel it will be difficult to separate the two sides at the end of 90 minutes on Saturday.

Score prediction: Manchester United 2-2 Tottenham
