Alejandro Garnacho held several one-on-one meetings with Aston Villa manager Unai Emery during the international break, according to The Telegraph.
Villa signed the 22-year-old on loan from Chelsea in the summer transfer window but he has yet to hit the ground running at the Midlands club.
The Villans have a conditional obligation to sign Garnacho permanently at the end of the season.
The Argentine has undergone an intense mini pre-season during the break, spending much of it in close contact with Emery.
Garnacho is desperate to get his career back on track after a disappointing time with the Blues.
The former Manchester United attacker has made just three appearances for Villa since joining, all coming off the bench.
He was an unused substitute in four of Villa’s matches before the break but has been working hard in recent weeks.
He has worked on a personal fitness programme and was put through individual tactical sessions by the coaches at the club’s Bodymoor Heath base.
Garnacho found the back of the net in friendly games against Southampton and Sevilla during the break and will be desperate to get back to his best in the coming weeks.
Villa resume action with a Premier League home game against Brentford on Saturday before hosting Fenerbahce in the Champions League next Wednesday.
Garnacho will hope to feature in both games and prove himself to Emery after working hard over the last two weeks.
