The Academy graduate made her first competitive start for the club in the Subway Players Cup clash, at Leigh, and she marked the occasion in the grand manner.
Simpson opened her account for United by scoring the eighth goal of our eventual 10-1 triumph over the Blades.
And it was a rare example of an 'Olimpico goal' - one scored directly from a corner.
Jess faced stiff competition for the award, with United scoring an impressive 19 times in league and cup during the month.
Eight of those strikes were nominated for the prize, and we can confirm that Dominique Janssen's free-kick at Durham, and Julia Zigiotti's opener against Arsenal, came second and third respectively.
But Simpson's effort was a clear winner - thanks to all who voted this month, and congratulations, Jess!
