Pellegatti: “Scouts are following” – Milan like Bournemouth midfield star ‘a lot’

Alex Scott of AFC Bournemouth

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti has confirmed the indiscretion that surfaced regarding AC Milan’s interest in signing Alex Scott.

It was reported by TMW on Tuesday that Milan have set their sights on Scott, who is the latest young star at AFC Bournemouth. The management know that the time will almost certainly come next summer to find Luka Modric’s heir, and the Englishman is someone they are watching.

The plan was to watch him in action for the England national team over the current break, but the Rossoneri’s mission was cut short after an injury in the 7-0 win over Croatia at the weekend, which will see Scott miss a couple of months.

He remains a quite fanciful target for Milan because – as often happens in these cases – there is the strong interest from Premier League powerhouses like Arsenal and Chelsea to deal with.

‘Milan scouts are following’

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Pellegatti responded to the rumours doing the rounds with the results from his own checks on the situation. MilanNews transcribed what he had to say.

“Milan are reportedly following Alex Scott, at least that’s what English websites and media are reporting. Alex Scott, a Bournemouth player born in 2003, a midfielder who is said to be very strong, and is also in the sight of other teams,” he said.

“We’ll have the chance in about a fortnight – in 15 days we’ll be almost on the eve of the away match in Bournemouth – to follow this player who Milan seem to like a lot.

“There’s talk of a move further down the line, I don’t think it’s January, probably next year; but there’s no doubt that he’s a profile that Milan scouts are following.”
