Bayern are out of Kenan Yildiz race if Real Madrid make major transfer move

Bayern Munich are not in the driver’s seat when it comes to Europe’s pursuit of Kenan Yildiz.

The Bavarians, in fact, would be actively out of the race for the Turkish international should a competitor come in with ‘big money’ for the footballer.

FC Bayern may have made a mistake in allowing the 21-year-old to depart the club back in the summer of 2022.

However, at this point in time, it seems highly unlikely that the reigning Bundesliga champions will look to correct this mistake in the market.

“It is TRUE: Kenan Yildiz is on the list of many teams in Europe. He’s a big talent and I think that Bayern Munich made a mistake in allowing the player to leave on a free transfer. But now, it’s too late for FC Bayern. If they got him back at the club, they would be admitting to having made a mistake, and it would also mean paying a lot of money to correct this error,” Christian Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.

“It’s not very hot at the minute, but the agents are close to the club, so it’s always a discussion in terms of whether this is a viable option. If other clubs, like Real Madrid, come in and are prepared to pay big money, then Bayern Munich are out of the poker.

“It is interesting that Yildiz used to be a Bayern youth player and could have ended up providing backup to Harry Kane had he stayed put in Munich. Of course, football doesn’t always work out in the dream scenario. And in this case, Bayern Munich are not in the driver’s seat.”

Not unless the attacker becomes a market opportunity in the January transfer window, amid the club’s search for a left-sided winger to back up the clearly exhausted Luis Diaz.

Bayern do need backup for Luis Diaz

With Arijon Ibrahimovic having been shipped off on loan to FC Augsburg, and it being unclear just how many minutes Tim Binder will get this season, FC Bayern are in clear need of reinforcements.

But even were Yildiz to become available in January for a relatively modest fee, there would still be question marks over whether the attacker would be the right fit at this point in time.

He did register a more than reasonable 21 goal contributions in 47 games (across all competitions) in 2025/26. But we’re still talking about a footballer who’s missed the start of the season thanks to a broken foot.

With a return date set for November, Bayern would perhaps be best advised to focus on an option who could come in and immediately relieve Diaz without risk of re-igniting an injury issue.

Perhaps Kenan Yildiz could be a viable option in the following transfer window instead.
