New Leeds United injury blow as attacker ruled out and doubts over pair in Daniel Farke's…

Boss Daniel Farke has provided his Leeds United team news for Saturday’s return to Premier League action after the international break against champions Arsenal at the Emirates.

Leeds went into the international break with Joe Rodon and Harry Wilson both out injured, Rodon expected to be looking at eight to ten weeks out with the hamstring injury suffered in the 1-1 draw at home to Brentford at the end of August.

Farke then revealed ahead of United’s final game before the international break that Wilson had suffered a quad injury, the winger ruled out of the visit of Palace and subsequently pulling out of the Wales squad for the break’s Nations League games.

Leeds then looked to be coming through the break unscathed but deadline day signing Jean-Matteo Bahoya suffered an ankle injury on Saturday evening playing for France’s under-21s against Luxembourg’s under-21s, the attacker forced off midway through the first half.

The following day, Dan James surprisingly dropped to the bench for Wales’ Nations League game at home to Denmark, boss Craig Bellamy revealing that the winger had not been ready to start following the tight turnaround after Thursday night’s 2-1 victory at home to Norway.

It all left question marks over Wilson, Bahoya and to a lesser degree James ahead of this weekend’s Saturday lunchtime clash at the Emirates.

Farke held his pre-match press conference on Thursday at Thorp Arch where he gave updates.

Farke said: “Joe Rodon is on his way back, in his rehab, good progress. Dan James will miss the Arsenal game, came back with a back injury, Jean-Matteo came back with an ankle sprain but he looks better, is a chance. Harry Wilson is back in team training since Tuesday, a chance for him.”
