Atalanta star Lorenzo Bernasconi has emerged as a transfer target for Juventus in recent weeks, with the Bianconeri keen to move for the defender before the end of the season.
Bernasconi is developing into one of the top left backs in the country, and Atalanta would ideally like to keep him. However, Juventus’ interest is serious, and Football Italia reports that they want to sign him as early as the January transfer window.
Juve view Bernasconi as a player who could strengthen their squad, and they are prepared to include Juan Cabal in their offer as part of an attempt to make the deal happen.
Juventus prepare January approach
Cabal was expected to join La Dea during the last transfer window, but the late move failed to materialise. Atalanta remain interested in signing him, although the emergence of Bernasconi was one of the reasons they abandoned their pursuit of the Colombian.
Now, Juventus are looking to revive the possibility of a deal involving both players. The Bianconeri could send Cabal to Atalanta as part of their proposal while securing Bernasconi in return.
The move would give Atalanta a player they already know and have previously considered signing, while Juventus would add a promising left-back to their squad.

Bianconeri want to avoid summer competition
The report says Juventus are pushing to sign Bernasconi in the coming transfer window rather than waiting until the summer. They believe acting early could help them avoid a more complicated race for his signature.
If Juve delay their move, they expect more clubs to become interested in the Atalanta defender, increasing competition and potentially making negotiations more difficult.
For that reason, the Bianconeri want to try to complete the transfer as soon as possible. Including Cabal could help them convince Atalanta to consider the proposal, while also giving La Dea an opportunity to revisit their interest in the defender.
