Sunderland prospect Jaydon Jones has joined National League North club Hebburn Town on loan.
Sunderland youngster Jaydon Jones has secured a short-term loan move to National League North neighbours Hebburn Town.
The 19-year-old midfielder was an unused substitute for the Black Cats first team in a Premier League defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion in March and a Carabao Cup loss against Huddersfield Town just over six months earlier. However, along with brother Jenson, Jones was one of several Academy of Light products that travelled with Regis Le Bris’ squad to the United States this summer as he gained further experience of life in the senior setup.

Several clubs had shown an interest in securing Jones’ services on loan in recent months - but it is Hebburn that have landed his services for an initial month as fellow Black Cats youngster Isaac Allan returns to Sunderland from a loan spell at the Trustmark Group Stadium.
Hornets boss Daniel Moore has been impressed with Jones’ attitude as he looked to secure the first loan move of a promising career and he believes the youngster will benefit from his time with the Hornets as they look to continue a strong start to their first ever season in non-league’s second tier.
He told The Echo: “Obviously, he is from a footballing family and we know his Dad through football. His brother is doing really well and he wants to do it himself so it’s a good move for him. He was captain of the youth setup last year, he’s been in America with the first-team this summer so he has been around a senior environment. He knows a lot of our players and that will help him settle in. He’s met the lads, he was in and around us last night at training and I think it’s a good addition for us.
“He’s another young lad that Sunderland have trusted us with and that is massive for us. He’s shown the attitude to want to come and play at our level and get experience. He wants to experience senior football and we can’t wait to work with him because he will get opportunities with us.”
Jones could make his debut in Hebburn’s home game with Oxford City on Saturday.
