Albion’s flying wingers are “desperate” to return to action.

But it will not happen in the game at Sunderland.

Kaoru Miroma and Yakuba Minteh, who scored the winner at the Stadium of Light last term, miss the trip to Wearside and have yet to feature this season.

Mitoma has been out since the closing weeks of last season and missed the World Cup with a hamstring injury.

Seagulls boss Fabian Hurzeler said: “The impression he gives me doing rehab, being on the pitch and doing things with the ball, is quite positive.

“The same for Minteh. They are desperate to come back, not only because they see others are performing, also just because they are great team players and they want to help the team.

“You definitely can feel it, that they want to come back as quickly as possible on the pitch, and that's just something positive.

“We know having these two wingers back will definitely improve our game, will help our game.

“But, on the other side, it's also really good to have our options.

And in every injury, and that's always what I try to express, I'm quite a positive person and every injury there might be some positives.

“If these kinds of injuries didn't happen, then we would never get maybe the performances from Malick (Yalcouye) or from Maxim De Cuyper in this position.

“So you always have to stay positive, try to find solutions, get the best out of the team.”
